Many companies out there claim to stop leaking showers without the removal of tiles at a low cost, added with a 15 year warranty. You will think so what’s the problem? Sure there is the method of simply applying a sealant over the existing tiles as opposed to removing the existing tiles and re-waterproofing the substrate (which is the most correct method). However the problem with applying a sealer over the existing tiles would more than likely have the problem occur again due to building movement, the sealer is so brittle that it is likely to crack hence allowing water to seep through again. It is important you read the fine print before using the sealant option.
